There will be a hunter safety training course offered Saturday, March 6. The course, sponsored by the Greene County conservation board, will be held from 8 am to 4 pm at the Greene County Extension Service meeting room. COVID restrictions limit class size to 15. Students are asked to bring a sack lunch.
All persons born after Jan. 1, 1972 are required to have a certificate of completion of a hunter safety course before purchasing an Iowa hunting license. Minimum age for the course is 12 and there is no cost.
The Iowa DNR now requires students to register for this class online. Go to the Iowa DNR website and find the Hunter Education link. Find the March 6 class scheduled in Greene County on the calendar and click on “Register”. Persons who want more information can contact Dan Towers at 515-386-5674.
